Job Description
Description The Structural Designer / Drafter is responsible for developing Revit models and construction documents for precast concrete structural systems used in multifamily, parking, and mixed-use projects. This position works closely with structural engineers, architects, and other design professionals to produce accurate permit and construction documents while ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements. The Structural Designer / Drafter is expected to perform design and drafting assignments with increasing independence while maintaining quality, accuracy, and adherence to project schedules. Duties & Responsibilities Develop 3D structural models using Autodesk Revit. Prepare permit drawings, construction documents, and related project deliverables. Modify and update drawings based on engineering direction and project revisions. Coordinate structural models with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines. Participate in project coordination meetings as required. Review drawings and models for completeness, constructability, and adherence to company standards. Perform quality control reviews on personal work and assist in peer reviews as assigned. Maintain project documentation and revision records. Communicate project progress and design issues to project engineers and supervisors. Follow established drafting standards, procedures, and document control practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Minimum of two (2) years of drafting or design experience preferred. Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or comparable CAD software. Basic understanding of structural building systems and construction methods. Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines. Experience with structural drafting or modeling preferred. Experience with precast concrete or commercial construction projects preferred. Familiarity with BIM coordination processes preferred. Experience producing permit and construction documents preferred. Knowledge of applicable building codes and drafting standards preferred.
