Job Description:
Understand the Space. Guide the Client. Build the Solution. Wendover Art Group is seeking a Signage Consultant who understands that exceptional signage is more than a product, it is an integrated part of the architecture, brand, and guest experience. This role is built for a design professional who can move seamlessly between creative strategy, client consultation, technical understanding, and disciplined execution, developing comprehensive signage programs for hospitality and commercial environments. You will work directly with interior designers, architects, hospitality brands, ownership groups, purchasing firms, and other project stakeholders to understand the space, interpret the design intent, identify signage requirements, and develop solutions that are visually compelling, appropriately placed, compliant, manufacturable, and executable. You will not simply respond to a signage schedule. You will help shape the solution. About Wendover Wendover Art Group is a privately owned, vertically integrated designer and manufacturer serving residential, hospitality, healthcare, multifamily, commercial, and retail markets. Since 2005, Wendover has grown revenue more than 12x by building an organization centered on Honor, Excellence, Team, and Smart and an uncompromising commitment to delivering superior value to our customers. Key Responsibilities Develop comprehensive signage programs for hospitality and commercial environments Build trusted relationships with A&D firms, interior designers, architects, hospitality brands, ownership groups, and purchasing firms Read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, floor plans, specifications, and signage schedules Understand how guests move through a space and identify what signage is required, where it belongs, and how it should function Translate brand standards, design concepts, regulatory requirements, and budgets into cohesive signage solutions Advise clients on signage types, placement, materials, finishes, construction methods, and design opportunities Create and present compelling concept presentations, signage packages, and recommendations Understand applicable code, accessibility, and life-safety requirements and incorporate them into the signage strategy Partner with Design, Product Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations to ensure concepts are technically sound, manufacturable, and executable Own projects from early planning and design development through approval, production, and execution Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and grow Wendover's signage business Represent Wendover in client meetings, presentations, site discussions, and industry events Skills and Traits Necessary for Success You can review a set of plans and begin to understand how people will experience the environment, where they need information, what the brand is trying to communicate, and how signage should integrate into the architecture rather than compete with it. You have a sophisticated design point of view, but you also understand the technical and functional requirements that turn a concept into a successful signage program. You can sit across the table from an architect or interior designer and contribute meaningfully to the design conversation and then go deep into placement, dimensions, materials, finishes, code requirements, construction, and execution. You are comfortable asking questions others may overlook. What is the guest journey? What information is required? Is the placement intuitive? Does it meet code? Does it reinforce the brand? Can we manufacture it? Can we improve it? Qualifications Background in Interior Design, Architecture, Environmental Graphic Design, Experiential Design, Signage, Wayfinding, or a related discipline Strong aesthetic judgment and understanding of interiors, architecture, branding, materials, and spatial design Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, drawings, elevations, and specifications Understanding of wayfinding, signage placement, accessibility, and code considerations Confidence communicating and presenting to designers, architects, ownership groups, and senior-level clients Ability to translate complex project requirements into clear, executable solutions Strong project management, organization, prioritization, and attention to detail Commercial mindset with an interest in client development and business growth Ability to manage multiple sophisticated projects without sacrificing quality or follow-through Proficiency with relevant design, presentation, and business software Why Wendover Our Signage Consultants have access to something unique: design capability backed by engineering and domestic manufacturing. You will work directly with leading designers, brands, ownership groups, and decision-makers while gaining exposure to the entire process, from plans and early design development through engineering, materials, fabrication, and final execution. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to influence the design, advise sophisticated clients, solve complex spatial challenges, build relationships, and help grow a significant business within Wendover.
