Gainesville, FL Reporting To:
Sr. Director, Product Development Engineering Description Design orthopedic implants, instrumentation, and related components under the guidance of senior engineering and design personnel. Produce CAD models, drawings, prototypes, and design documentation supporting product development and sustaining engineering projects. Key Responsibilities Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and assemblies for implants and surgical instruments. Support product development and sustaining engineering projects. Apply GD&T and drafting standards to engineering documentation. Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback. Assist with prototype evaluation and design verification activities. Perform basic tolerance analyses and engineering calculations. Support manufacturing investigations and design-related nonconformance activities. Process engineering change requests and drawing revisions. Ensure compliance with quality system requirements and applicable standards. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Quality personnel. Know and apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International standards
Skills Knowledge and Expertise Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate and/or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution preferred. Relevant work experience can offset degree.
Experience:
1 year of drafting and/or design experience preferred. Education can offset experience.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Understanding of mechanical design concepts and their application to total joint systems design, manufacturing processes, and drafting document standards Basic understanding of GD&T Basic knowledge of human factors, ergonomics and industrial design principles Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) Knowledge of ASME Y-14.5
