Job Title:
Junior Landscape Designer / Landscape Architecture Associate -
Entry Level Job Description:
Island Home Service is looking for a motivated Junior Landscape Designer / Landscape Architecture Associate to join and support our experienced landscape design team. This is a great opportunity for someone currently studying landscape architecture, horticulture, landscape design, or a related field — or a recent graduate who wants to gain real-world experience and learn how landscape projects are actually designed, estimated, sold, installed, and maintained. You will work closely with our experienced landscape designers and landscape architects while also spending time in the field with our installation and operations teams. We are looking for someone who wants to learn the full landscape business, not just sit behind a computer.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with residential, commercial, HOA, and high-end landscape designs Prepare and revise landscape plans and planting layouts Assist with plant selection and material specifications Help with site measurements, field evaluations, and project documentation Prepare presentation materials and design concepts Coordinate design revisions with our senior design team Assist with estimating, plant counts, and material takeoffs Visit active installation projects and learn proper installation practices Work with project managers, installation crews, irrigation teams, and account managers Help maintain design files, plant libraries, and project records Participate in customer meetings and site visits as experience develops
What We Are Looking For:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or related program Strong interest in landscape design and landscape construction Basic understanding of plants and landscape materials Experience with AutoCAD and Land F/X preferred SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or other 3D/design software experience is a plus Good organizational and communication skills Willingness to learn both design and field operations Comfortable working both in an office environment and outdoors in Florida Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented Valid driver's license preferred
What You Will Learn:
This position provides hands-on exposure to the complete landscape process: Design → Estimating → Sales → Irrigation → Installation → Project Management → Ongoing Landscape Care You will work alongside an experienced design team while learning how successful landscape projects move from concept through installation and long-term maintenance. For the right person, this position can develop into a long-term Landscape Designer or Landscape Architecture role within our growing company.
Schedule:
Full-time preferred. We are also open to a strong college student who can work part-time during the school year and transition into a full-time position after graduation.

Sanibel, Florida Compensation:
$22-$28 per hour , based on education, experience, plant knowledge, and AutoCAD / Land F/X capabilities.

Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
