The Designer at HSG performs all steps of the product development process, including research, concept development, prototyping, testing, and design for manufacturing. If you are a driven creative problem solver with a desire to support America's servicemen, police and citizenry, by creating American made gear, we want you on our team.- This is not a Remote position. Work schedule is on-site, M-F, 7:30 - 4:00. Responsibilities and Duties
- Work as part of the design team, applying a methodical design process to create products, processes and production aids
- Execute design projects using research, concept development, hands-on prototyping, testing and production preparation
- Build and foster relationships with end users to gain insights that inform great products
- Work with our sales and production teams to get products into production
- Create and maintain production documents such as tech packs, patterns and cut lists Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in industrial design or a similar field
- 4+ years of experience in a related design or manufacturing position
- Competent in Adobe Illustrator, 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion360) and MS Office suite
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to develop concepts through hands-on prototyping
- Sewing, manufacturing or 3D printing experience are a plus
- Self-motivated, team oriented, thrives in a dynamic environment where no 2 days are the same
- Able to accept feedback and criticism, and integrate it into an iterative design process
- Extracurriculars -- Interest or experience in any of the following is a plus: tactical gear, shooting, tactical operations/training, hunting, outdoor adventure sports, military, law enforcement, first responder, tactical medicine
