Job Description

Company Description Timberland Lumber Company is a building materials supplier serving residential, commercial, and multi-family builders. The company provides roof trusses, wall panels, dimensional lumber, windows, doors, siding, and a full range of building supplies and hardware. Timberland supports construction professionals with reliable products that meet modern building standards and project timelines. Team members work closely with customers to deliver solutions that help projects run efficiently and successfully. Role Description The EWP Designer is a full-time, remote or onsite position. This role is responsible for designing engineered wood products such as I-Joist Floor systems and engineer beams using project plans, specifications, and applicable building codes. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing architectural and structural drawings, creating layout designs, generating material lists, and coordinating with sales, production, and construction teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of components. The EWP Designer also communicates with customers and internal stakeholders to clarify design requirements, resolve technical issues, and recommend cost-effective solutions. The role involves maintaining design documentation, updating project files, and supporting continuous improvement in design standards and processes. Qualifications Knowledge of structural design principles and engineered wood products, including floor and roof systems. Proficiency with design and drafting software (e.g., Weyco and/or Boise) Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans, specifications, and building codes. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills applicable to construction and design. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with sales, production, and builder clients. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Experience in lumber, building materials, or construction industry preferred. Associate or bachelor's degree in construction technology, engineering, architecture, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Pay:
$50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
