Full-time, Direct Hire Prolink Industrial is partnering with a company specializing in underground and heavy civil construction to hire a Civil/Structural Design Engineer. This position joins an in-house engineering team supporting mining, tunneling and hoisting equipment projects. The work includes structural design, engineering calculations, construction plan preparation and technical support during construction. Responsibilities Design and stamp civil/structural systems, structures and components supporting tunneling, mine shaft sinking and mine development projects. Engineer structural steel and reinforced concrete structures. Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports. Develop modifications to existing equipment, systems and structures. Provide technical support for heavy civil construction, mining and hoisting equipment projects. Respond to site requests for information with analysis and recommendations. Ensure designs meet applicable building codes, mining and tunneling requirements, and safety standards. Assist with project planning and technical quotes. Direct project teams in developing engineering drawings. Coordinate with engineers, consultants, vendors and clients. Travel to project sites as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or graduate degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. At least 5 years of engineering experience. Active Professional Engineer license or ability to register as a licensed PE within 6 months. Experience designing structural steel and reinforced concrete structures. Knowledge of IBC, ASCE, AISC and ACI building and material codes. Proficiency in structural calculations using analysis software and hand calculations. Experience with RISA or other finite element analysis software. Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations with a strong approach to engineering safety. Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications Experience in underground construction, mining, tunneling or heavy civil construction. Geotechnical or support of excavation engineering experience. California PE license. Experience with wood and masonry engineering. Experience with grading, drainage, stormwater and site layout. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or Revit. Compensation and Benefits Base salary of $150,000-$180,000 per year. Full benefits package through the hiring company. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate. #
