Position Summary Seeking a drafter experienced in structural steel drafting. Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret structural drawings and applicable project specifications thoroughly. Candidate will create AutoCAD drawings and must possess a good understanding of MS Office products. Candidate needs to be very detail oriented and have good written and verbal communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Perform drafting operations for the determination of project plans and collect data for project designs Generate detailed drawings necessary to perform all phases of fabrication Evaluate all drawings to ensure accuracy and specifications for state, federal and customer requirements are met Navigate state and federal websites to access most recent standard drawings and specifications. Communicate with contractors, clients, engineers and the general public regarding job designs or issues. Prepare supporting documentation such as bills of material and shipping lists Analyze technical problems and communicate design developments and/or improvements Travel to existing customer and/or vendor location if necessary. Candidate must have a minimum of an Associate Degree within Design/Drafting or a related field along with substantial experience in structural steel drafting. Experience in Metal Fabrication preferred.
