Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil CADD Drafter/Technician to join our engineering team. This role will primarily work in MicroStation , preparing detailed roadway, bridge, and civil infrastructure drawings and construction plan sets. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, surveyors, project managers, and other drafting personnel to translate engineering design concepts into accurate, well-organized technical drawings. Daily work may include developing plan sheets, alignments, profiles, cross-sections, construction details, and quantity takeoffs for Louisiana DOTD, municipal, and other civil engineering projects. MicroStation will be the primary drafting software used in this position. Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, or InRoads is preferred; however, candidates with strong civil CAD experience using other platforms who demonstrate the ability to learn MicroStation quickly are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Produce roadway, bridge, and civil infrastructure drawings and plan sets using MicroStation as the primary drafting platform (InRoads/OpenRoads experience is beneficial). Generate alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and quantity takeoffs for DOTD and municipal projects. Apply Louisiana DOTD standards, specifications, and CAD requirements throughout drafting work. Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to support project design and development. Maintain drawing accuracy, file organization, and adherence to established CAD standards. Perform drafting QA/QC to ensure accuracy and compliance with project timelines. Provide drafting support across additional civil engineering projects as assigned. Preferred Skills & Experience Prior experience preparing Louisiana DOTD drawings or submittals. Knowledge of roadway geometry, grading, drainage, and bridge plan components. Experience with MicroStation preferred. Knowledge of OpenRoads or InRoads is a plus. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other civil CAD/design software is a plus. Experience with DOTD roadway or bridge projects is highly desirable. Qualifications Ability to read, interpret, and produce detailed engineering drawings. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. This is an in-office position and is not offered as a remote or hybrid role. Regular on-site attendance is required.
