AM Position Summary:
The Engineered Lumber Technical Specialist provides technical expertise and support to builders, lumber yards, distribution centers, and internal sales teams regarding the specification, design and application of engineered wood products. This role serves as a subject matter expert on Engineered Lumber Solutions, including floor and roof systems, and assists customers through design consultation, product recommendations, training, and technical problem-solving. This position is also responsible for supporting demand forecasting activities and collaborating with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer service and business results.
What You'll Do:
Technical Support & Customer Consultation
  • Provide technical assistance to customers regarding engineered lumber products and applications.
  • Interpret architectural and construction plans to develop engineered wood floor and roof layouts.
  • Create design layouts and drafting solutions using engineered lumber software and CAD tools.
  • Recommend appropriate products and specifications based on customer needs and project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot product, design, and installation-related questions.
  • Deliver technical training and educational presentations to customers and internal associates. Industry Expertise & Collaboration
  • Stay current on industry trends, products, technologies, and construction practices.
  • Participate in meetings, presentations, and customer events to represent the organization.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge-sharing support to less experienced team members.
What You'll Need:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Master's degree or MBA is a plus. Experience
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in engineered lumber, structural design, construction, building materials, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
