Choice Stairways is the premiere stair and rail manufacturer in the Mid-Atlantic. Our growing Design & Estimating Division is currently seeking an experienced Architectural Draftman for Custom Stairs and Rails to join the team. Tasks and responsibilities expected to be fulfilled, but are not limited to include:

• Produce technical engineered drawings that detail plans and specifications
• Review and stay in tune with building codes, space and site requirements, and other technicalities to determine their effect on the architectural design
• Determine dimensions, bill of materials and communicate with purchasing for bidding each job
• Coordinate with production staff to communicate concepts and ensure the stair/rail is produced to all established specifications and on budget
• Lead & advise installation team at job site when needed
• Visit job sites with sales team to gather measurements and customer specifics
• Assess each job at closing to gauge profitability and optimization for future jobs. Job Requirements To be considered for the position, the Draftsman should meet the following experience requirements:
• Experience working with custom materials; metal, glass, cable - huge plus!
• Proficient in AutoCAD, preferably with prior professional experience and formal training in architectural, structural, and construction drafting
• Must have reliable transportation and willing to visit job sites as needed
