$65,000 - $90,000 plus benefits package and bonuses per year (commensurate with project experience) About Port City Architecture For over 35 years, Port City Architecture has delivered high-performing design across Maine based on three core principles: Form, Function, and Finance . We specialize in public safety, municipal, higher education, and commercial markets. We offer a hands-on, collaborative office environment where team members get direct exposure to all phases of a project. Position Overview We are seeking a Licensed Architect or Architectural Designer on track for licensure with 3+ years of professional experience to join our team in Portland's Old Port. This role requires technical drafting, including Revit, effective communication, and creative problem-solving skills. You will work directly with firm leadership, clients, and engineering consultants on projects
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and coordinate comprehensive construction documents and assist in space planning, code reviews, and technical detailing. Working knowledge of regulations and building technologies. Work on-site and participate in field visits, contractor coordination, and construction administration. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering consultants (MEP, Structural, Civil). Work both independently and collaboratively.
Position Requirements:
Education:
Professional degree from an accredited school in Architecture required ( B.Arch or M.Arch ).
Experience:
3+ years of architectural design and production experience in a professional firm.
Licensure:
Registered Architect (RA) or actively on track for licensure.
Software:
High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required. Experience with Deltek Specpoint, SketchUp, and Twinmotion is a plus.
Skills:
Understanding of building codes, construction detailing, and construction document preparation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to travel and explore Maine.
Work Style:
Self-motivated, dependable, professional, with excellent follow-through.
Presence:
Full-time, in-office position at our Portland, ME location with flexible schedule
