BIM Modeler
Job Description
Position Summary Electrical Corporation of America (ECA) is seeking a BIM Modeler to support the successful planning and execution of construction projects by developing accurate 2D and 3D models that facilitate coordination, fabrication, installation, and field layout. Working closely with project managers, field teams, designers, and trade partners, this position creates and maintains high-quality Building Information Models (BIM) while helping identify and resolve coordination issues before construction begins. The BIM Modeler plays a key role in improving project efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration through effective use of modeling technology and company standards. Key Responsibilities BIM Modeling & Technical Responsibilities Ability to set up Revit central models to project specifications and requirements. Ability to model electrical components and content to accurate dimensions, orientation, and elevation. Create assembly documentation from the model as required to meet detailed manufacturing requirements. Create, modify, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D installation documentation. Accurately locate and place Autodesk Point Layout (APL) points within the model and export data files required for field implementation. Model and maintain a clash-free environment. Project Coordination & Collaboration Basic comprehension, navigation, and utilization of design, construction, and submittal documentation. Ability to understand a project-specific BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and how it relates to modeling efforts in meeting contractual requirements. Effectively communicate with team members and project stakeholders. Provide detailed input into task assignments and project tracking as directed by the Coordinator and/or project lead(s). Maintain accountability through task management and project tracking as directed by the Coordinator and/or project lead(s). Support consistent modeling practices and quality expectations throughout the project lifecycle. 2 of 2 Qualifications No electrical/specialty systems field experience required Two (2) or more years of professional 2D and/or 3D modeling experience preferred. Experience using Autodesk software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar modeling platforms. Basic understanding of design, construction, and submittal documentation. Ability to interpret project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and apply modeling standards to meet project requirements. Experience creating and maintaining accurate 2D and 3D models. Strong computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new software and technologies. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a project team. Ability to work within established company standards. BIM clash coordination, Revit Family creation experience are a plus.
