Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Designer 4 for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of experience -or- Associates Degree or other 2-year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years' experience.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
o Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. o Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. o Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. o Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. o Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years of experience or a combination of education, including high school diploma, and 10 years' experience in Design and shipbuilding. o Must be proficient in AutoCad 2018 2D Design. o Prior knowledge of Planning Yard processes and procedures and how this organization functions. o Must possess a full understanding of Planning Yard Naval Design (Structure, Foundations and Outfitting).
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS
Full-Time 5/40, workweek 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.
