IDR is seeking a Designer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Durham, NC. In this role, you'll focus on circuit design and analysis supporting an advanced motor-controller system within the aerospace/space engineering domain. You'll help evolve an existing design to meet more demanding environmental requirements while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver updated schematics and board-ready deliverables. Designer:
Modify existing motor-controller circuitry to meet more demanding environmental requirements for space applications Design and update power electronics circuitry including 3-phase inverters, current sensing, and PWM filtering Develop analog input and signal-conditioning circuits (op-amp scaling/filtering) and support ADC interface integration Evaluate and update input power circuitry including inrush protection and EMI filtering Produce and maintain schematics and electrical design documentation and support updated PWB/PWA efforts after circuit changes Requirements for the
Designer:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in circuit design and electrical engineering with a strong analytical approach Hands-on experience designing or modifying motor controller circuitry, including power electronics and motor-control hardware Experience with 3-phase inverter circuits, motor outputs, current sensing, and PWM filtering Experience with analog circuit design including op-amp signal conditioning, resolver feedback/ADC interfaces, and EEE component selection for reliability and lifecycle considerations What's in it for you?
