We combine personalized client care with design and construction expertise to bring our clients' vision for their homes to life. We are seeking a detail-oriented Architectural Drafter I/II to join our growing architectural design team. This position is open to both developing and experienced drafting professionals, with the level of responsibility and compensation determined by experience, technical proficiency, residential construction knowledge, and demonstrated ability to work independently. This is a full-time, on-site position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, at our office located at 5102 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd., Suite 100, Durham, NC 27707. What You'll Do Produce accurate Revit drawings, revisions, construction documents, and permit drawings Develop existing condition plans using field measurements and Matterport scans Create framing plans, roof plans, elevations, construction details, and exterior integration details Draft residential remodeling, renovation, and addition projects Create accurate as-built documentation incorporating measurements, building codes, specifications, and construction details Coordinate drawing revisions and design intent with designers and project managers Coordinate with architects and engineers regarding structural requirements and design integration Participate in client, field, and internal coordination meetings Visit project sites to take measurements and verify existing conditions as needed Troubleshoot field conditions and revise plans accordingly Maintain accurate, organized, and construction-ready project documentation Manage multiple active projects while meeting established deadlines What We're Looking For Associate's degree and/or certification in architectural drafting, architecture, or a related field Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD Experience with Matterport documentation workflow preferred Knowledge of residential remodeling and construction Understanding of framing concepts, roof structures, building codes, and construction details Ability to interpret and apply redlines and markups Understanding of exterior elevations, architectural detailing, scale, and proportion Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, project managers, architects, engineers, and clients ADDA certification preferred Experience We are open to candidates at different stages of their drafting careers: Developing-level candidates: 0-2 years of architectural drafting experience. Recent graduates with strong Revit skills and relevant education or training are encouraged to apply.
Experienced candidates:
3+ years of architectural drafting experience preferred, with the ability to independently produce complete construction document sets and manage project drafting responsibilities. Experienced candidates should also demonstrate strong residential framing and roofline integration knowledge, advanced Revit proficiency, an understanding of framing and load paths, the ability to identify constructability issues, and experience coordinating structural and architectural requirements with engineers.
