DESCRIPTION

Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer - Welding, NDE and Structural Design to work from their McLeansville, NC facility. As a mechanical engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for fabrication oversight, design verification and documentation of large assemblies of a critical nature.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred, CLEARANCE

REQUIREMENTS

: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Create, review, and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, weld procedure requirements, and design rationale Apply knowledge of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) techniques — including but not limited to radiographic (RT), ultrasonic (UT), magnetic particle (MT), liquid penetrant (PT), and visual (VT) — to support inspection planning and acceptance criteria Develop and manage Creo 3D models and associated drawing packages Support supplier oversight activities, including on-site visits to verify conformance to design and quality requirements Attend customer witness points during fabrication, inspection, and testing activities Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and program teams Support weld procedure qualification and welder performance qualification activities, with reference to
