Job Description

Global Textile Alliance (GTA) is seeking a creative and technically skilled Textiles & Surface Designer to join our Design team. This role will develop original artwork, prints, patterns, and surface designs for woven and knit textile products, with a strong focus on bedding and home textiles. The ideal candidate combines artistic creativity with technical textile expertise and understands how color, pattern, scale, textile construction, and manufacturing capabilities come together to create commercially successful products. You will have the opportunity to develop original concepts, transform existing or licensed artwork, explore multiple creative directions, and help bring innovative designs from concept through production. What You'll Do Create original artwork, prints, patterns, motifs, and surface designs for home textile applications. Develop design concepts based on customer needs, design briefs, market trends, and business objectives. Create and refine colorways, repeats, pattern scale, and placements for woven and knit products. Adapt and manipulate existing, purchased, and licensed artwork into differentiated design concepts. Develop production-ready digital artwork using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Create 2D and 3D textile renderings using 3DGO, EAT, or comparable software. Apply a strong understanding of color theory and textile construction to design development. Participate in design reviews and confidently present concepts and recommendations. Collaborate with Design, Creative, Sales, Product Development, and other teams to develop cohesive product collections. Stay current with trends in textiles, fashion, home furnishings, color, surface design, and consumer preferences. Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Maintain organized digital files and follow established production and file-management standards. Identify opportunities to improve creative processes, workflows, and technology. Apply appropriate copyright, trademark, licensing, and intellectual property practices. What We're Looking For 3+ years of professional design experience , preferably in textile, surface, print, graphic, fashion, home furnishings, or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Surface Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, or a related discipline preferred. A strong portfolio demonstrating original artwork, surface patterns, prints, color development, and digital design. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator. Strong knowledge of color theory, pattern development, print repeats, scale, colorways, and pattern placement. Ability to create clean, accurate, production-ready digital files. Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to present ideas and respond constructively to feedback. Ability to learn and adapt to new software, technologies, and design tools. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications. Preferred Experience Experience with 2D and 3D textile rendering software, particularly EAT, 3DGO, or equivalent. Experience designing for woven and knit textile applications.
