Due to our continued growth, we are currently seeking a Design Engineer with relevant Municipal or Private/Land Development experience to join our team in our Hamilton, NJ office. Key Responsibilities Prepare or assist with the design of site grading, drainage, utilities, soil erosion/sediment control measures, and stormwater management systems Prepare or assist with the preparation of NJDEP and other agency permit applications related to wetlands, flood hazard areas and stormwater management Knowledge of local Municipal Land Use Ordinances to be used to assist with the review of site plans, subdivision plans, plot plans and stormwater management plans Use AutoCAD Civil 3D design tools to prepare engineering designs and calculations Prepare engineering reports to support various design elements of projects Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare construction cost estimates Prepare or assist with the preparations of specifications for public bidding based upon the NJ Local Public Contracts Law and the NJ Local Public Schools Contract Law Engage in regular communication with project managers and other team members in regard to the status and progress of assigned tasks Qualifications B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field EIT certification preferred 4-5 years of experience in Municipal and Private/Land Development engineering Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills What We Offer We are committed to creating a personal and professional environment where we can build and focus on helping communities through teamwork and support. Compensation:
Van Cleef Engineering Associates is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices in compliance with applicable laws, including the New Jersey Equal Pay Act. The estimated salary range for this position will fall between $75,000 - $95,000. The starting salary offered is contingent upon a variety of factors including the candidate's experience/skillset, educational qualifications, and professional certifications, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.
