Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shop Drawings Manager specializing in Architectural Cladding to lead the development, coordination, and review of shop drawings for complex building facade systems. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the creation of precise, detailed construction documentation that ensures seamless integration of architectural cladding components. Your expertise will drive collaboration across design teams, fabrication, and installation phases, ensuring compliance with building codes and project specifications. Responsibilities Lead the preparation and review of shop drawings for architectural cladding systems using advanced CAD and 3D modeling software such as Revit, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, and SolidWorks. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, fabricators, and contractors to ensure design intent is accurately translated into detailed fabrication and installation drawings. Manage the integration of building information modeling (BIM) tools to coordinate system design, clash detection, and constructability analysis. Ensure all shop drawings adhere to relevant building codes, standards, and project specifications while maintaining high-quality drafting standards. Oversee the development of construction detail documentation that supports fabrication processes and installation procedures. Conduct regular quality checks on drawings for accuracy, clarity, and completeness; resolve discrepancies promptly. Facilitate communication across teams by providing clear schematics, technical guidance, and support during fabrication and installation phases. Qualifications Proven experience in managing shop drawings for architectural cladding or facade systems within a construction environment. Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D (with Grasshopper 3D), ArchiCAD, MicroStation, SolidWorks; experience with 3ds Max or other 3D modeling tools is a plus. Strong understanding of construction detail documentation and engineering CAD design principles. Knowledge of building code analysis and ensuring building code compliance in shop drawings. Familiarity with BIM workflows for system design and clash detection using Revit or similar platforms. Experience in structural system design, mechanical design aspects related to facades, or interior design is advantageous. Excellent drafting skills with an eye for precision in technical schematics and graphic presentation. Ability to interpret architectural schematics into detailed shop drawings while coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Construction experience with a focus on facade installation processes is highly desirable.
