Project Architect [
COMPANY OVERVIEW
(CONFIDENTIAL)] A prominent commercial design-build general contractor delivering turnkey design and construction solutions. The company specializes in complex industrial, manufacturing, and commercial building projects across North America. [
POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
] Working within the pre-construction team under the direction of the Pre-Construction Manager, you will lead professional architectural work from initial concepts to final closeout. You will act as the primary architectural liaison between clients, internal estimating/pre-construction teams, and external engineering consultants.
Architectural Execution:
Manage design phases including Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), Bidding, and Construction Administration (CA).
Client Engagement:
Interface directly with clients to translate operational, aesthetic, and financial goals into effective site layouts and building designs.
Cross-Disciplinary Coordination:
Direct internal teams and external consultants (civil, structural, MEP) to develop comprehensive permit and pricing sets; identify Value Engineering (VE) options.
Permitting & Compliance:
Prepare, track, and manage building permit applications with local authorities and oversee fee processing.
Construction Support & QA/QC:
Maintain up-to-date CD and As-Built drawings, review contractor submittals, inspect consultant deliverables for quality, and participate in site visits. [
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
]
Education & Credentials License:
Registered Architect (RA) license required (Ohio registration preferred or transferable).
Education:
Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university.
Driver's License:
Valid U.S. driver's license. Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and modern construction practices. Proficiency in Autodesk REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam , and Microsoft Project. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, and site personnel. Willingness to travel to job sites as needed. [
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
] Combination of office environment and active job site visits. Ability to navigate construction sites (climbing stairs/ladders, inspecting roofs) and lift up to 50 lbs.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
