Job Description

Stark State College is seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time Non-Credit Blueprint instructor to join our Mechanical Engineering Technology Department. The successful candidate will contribute to the college's commitment to academic excellence, student success, and community engagement.

Typical Responsibilities Include:
Develop and deliver hands-on blueprint reading workshops focused on the interpretation and application of construction drawings. Deliver instruction across Architectural, Structural, Site, Civil, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical plans. Demonstrate how construction drawings, details, schedules, specifications, symbols, and other technical documentation are used in real-world construction settings. Aim to bridge theory and practice, fostering confidence and accuracy in reading and utilizing technical drawings for construction personnel. Guide learners through real-world scenarios and problem-solving exercises. Have the capacity to adapt teaching methods to various experience levels and learning styles. Evaluate student learning through practical exercises, assessments, and other instructional activities. Provide academic support, individualized guidance, and constructive feedback to help students strengthen their skills. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and interactive learning environment that encourages questions, discussion, and hands-on participation. Required Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate's degree in a related field. Professional experience in architecture, engineering, or a construction-related field. Current knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction terminology. Current knowledge of industry standards, symbols, scales, and conventions used in blueprint reading. Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings. Strong instructional and presentation skills.
