Job Description

Will develop structural diagrams such as pipe and conduit support configurations and details, foundation designs, equipment mounting details, general arrangements, fire stops and seals details, process, and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), piping plan and section diagrams, and isometrics.
Education Required:
Associates Degree in drafting, design or engineering technology or 4 years of equivalent experience in the design of systems.
Experience Required:
Must have 9 years (minimum) of experience in engineering drafting and strong familiarity in the design of mechanical systems in addition to education requirements.
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge or use of Raster Design or 3D modeling experience is a plus. Recent plant modification package development and/or field experience on nuclear power plant projects is a plus.
Other Qualifications:
All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to direct drafting personnel on drawing assignments is required. Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation CAD software packages and Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, etc. is required with competency in software applications for email and databases. Knowledge or use of Raster Design or 3D modeling experience a plus. Demonstrated technical knowledge of design practices, codes and standards applicable to mechanical systems is required. A working knowledge of structural design principles and practices is necessary. Effective time management skills are required. A working knowledge of budgeting, scheduling and estimating of Mechanical design activities is also important. Ability to pass security and drug screening, and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required. Recent plant modification package development and/or field experience on nuclear power plant projects as well as familiarity with project management principles and practices are a plus. Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes. Overtime work is required.
