Job Summary:
The School of Visual, Performing and Design Arts (SVPDA), Graphic Design program, invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track full/part-time Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2026/2027 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Director. The primary mission of the Graphic Design program at OSU is undergraduate education. Students may seek a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate courses on-campus or through Ecampus. Possible courses include; typography, design tools & techniques, interaction design, design thinking, information design, branding systems, package design, professional development, design theory, graphic design history, etc.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with significant industry experience. Record of and/or demonstrated interest in engaging, educating, and mentoring a diverse group of learners and enhancing inclusive excellence through teaching, outreach, or programming. Ability to work collegially with other faculty, staff, and students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree Experience teaching at the college level. Evident commitment to educational equity. A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing inclusive excellence. History of success in program/curriculum development.
Working Conditions/Schedule:
Work schedule may vary depending upon student needs and engagement in campus and/or program activities.
Salary Range:
Salary commensurate with skill, education and experience.
