The Tile Studio is a family-owned luxury tile design, sales, and installation company specializing in high-end residential projects throughout the greater Philadelphia area. We work on some pretty incredible spaces—from custom bathrooms and showers to one-of-a-kind stone and tile installations—and we're looking for a Junior Design Assistant to join our team. This isn't a position where you'll spend all day doing one repetitive task. You'll be involved in the entire process: meeting clients, helping select materials, creating drawings and renderings, learning how beautiful designs actually get built, and helping us continue to improve the way our company operates. We're looking for someone who is extremely organized, creative, curious, tech-savvy, and almost annoyingly detail-oriented. If you love design but also love organization, systems, checklists, and making things work better, you may be exactly who we're looking for. What You'll Be Doing Design, Draw & Create You'll help turn ideas and tile selections into designs our clients can visualize—and our installation team can actually build.

You'll:

Create 2D drawings, elevations, and renderings for custom bathrooms and tile installations. Develop bathroom layouts, tile patterns, niches, feature walls, borders, plumbing locations, vanities, and other details. Turn client selections and design concepts into clear, accurate project drawings. Revise designs as projects evolve. Keep drawings, selections, specifications, and project information organized. Learn how to create increasingly detailed construction-ready drawings as your knowledge grows. You don't need to walk in knowing everything. We'll teach you the technical side. But you need to be excited to learn it. Work With Clients You'll be part of the design process—not sitting behind a computer all day.

You'll:

Participate in client design and selection meetings. Help clients choose tile, stone, grout, trim, and finishes. Prepare samples, drawings, and materials for meetings. Document selections and decisions accurately. Follow up on samples, selections, drawings, and outstanding details to keep projects moving. As your experience grows, you'll gradually begin taking ownership of meetings and projects yourself. Learn How Great Design Actually Gets Built One of the biggest advantages of this position is that we don't just design projects—we install them too. You'll work alongside experienced designers, project managers, and craftsmen and learn what actually goes into building a luxury bathroom. You'll learn about: Tile and stone Bathroom construction Waterproofing Layout and proportion Material limitations Installation methods Field conditions Why certain details work beautifully on paper…and others don't You'll initially shadow our Senior Design Assistant and gradually take on more responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grow. Help Us Build a Better Company Here's the part that's a little different. We're growing, and we're working hard to make our company more organized, consistent, and scalable. A meaningful part of your role will be helping us turn the way we work into repeatable systems. You'll work with our office team to: Document existing processes. Create easy-to-follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Build checklists, templates, forms, and workflows. Identify areas where information gets lost or handled inconsistently. Help create better systems. Keep those systems updated as the company evolves. Who We're Looking For Above everything else, we're looking for the right person.

Someone who is:

Extremely detail-oriented. You notice the little things. Organized and able to keep track of multiple projects at once. Creative with a strong eye for design, proportion, and aesthetics. Comfortable with technology and excited to learn new software. A strong communicator—both with clients and coworkers. Professional, friendly, and confident in client-facing situations. Someone who takes notes, follows up, and actually closes the loop. A problem solver who asks questions instead of guessing. Dependable, responsive, and self-motivated. Comfortable working with designers, office staff, project managers, and installers. Interested in high-end interiors, architecture, tile, stone, or construction. Excited to learn—not afraid to admit when you don't know something. Design Software Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Chief Architect, Revit, or similar software is a big plus. Don't know all of them? That's completely fine. We're more interested in someone with the technical aptitude and motivation to become great at the tools we use. Experience & Education A degree or coursework in Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred—but it's not a requirement. Previous design, drafting, showroom, or client-facing experience is a plus. Recent graduates and entry-level candidates are absolutely encouraged to apply. We're willing to teach a lot. What is much harder to teach is attention to detail, organization, curiosity, accountability, and the desire to become really good at what you do. Why The Tile Studio?
