A Civil or Architectural Designer or Drafter prepares detailed drawings for building plans and architectural designs. Creates drawings according to specifications provided by an architect, and uses computer-aided design and drafting technology.
H.F. Lenz Company is currently seeking a Civil Designer / Engineer in Lancaster, PA to support the engineering and design for various civil site development projects from conceptual drawings to construction documents. This role will utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create existing conditions backgrounds and 3D surfaces from survey points, aerial mapping and reference drawings. Candidate will work within a diverse project portfolio that includes commercial, industrial, public works, historic, healthcare and educational facilities. Primary Responsibilities:
Design site development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D in accordance with client standards.
Conduct surveys, and prepare reports, maps and other materials to identify best approach in developing and completing projects on time and within budget.
Research and review deeds, ordinances, field notes, municipal, state and federal codes to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with project engineers and design staff to address challenges and plan revisions.
Some travel to project sites and to perform land surveying tasks, is required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
0-5 years' of civil engineering experience or combination of education and experience.
FE / EIT
certificate is preferred.
Experienced in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experienced in Land Development, Civil Design, surveying and site lay-out.
Experienced with hydrologic / hydraulic modeling programs.
Experience preparing Post Construction Stormwater Management Plans
Experience preparing Erosion & Sedimentation Control Plans and NPDES Permitting
Ability to travel to local project sites and conduct site surveys as required.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to meet project deadlines and provide outstanding service to clients.
