Job Description
Civil/Structural Designer RCMT Energy Services is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Designer to join our US Engineering Team in Montvale, NJ . The successful candidate will support multiple civil and structural design projects for energy and utility clients, as well as industrial and commercial facilities such as warehouses, office buildings, and factories. This position is ideal for a designer who can work independently with minimal guidance and has strong experience in CAD/BIM design and multidisciplinary coordination.

Hybrid office work in Montvale, NJ 07645Key Responsibilities:
Design and prepare computer-aided drawings for building systems, foundations, and structural steel. Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering design packages, including construction drawings, plans, details, and material lists. Develop and revise drawings based on engineering markups, sketches, and project requirements. Create 3D models using Revit or other BIM-related software. Coordinate with electrical, civil/structural, architectural, and other project disciplines. Assist engineers and designers in resolving technical and design challenges. Interpret and respond to technical inquiries from coworkers, clients, and vendors. Obtain and incorporate information gathered from field visits and site walkdowns. Develop designs for both existing and new facilities. Ensure engineering deliverables meet project schedules and requirements. Apply applicable building and fire codes and industry standards to develop cost-effective designs. Manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and quality. Travel occasionally to client sites, industrial facilities, and branch offices as required.Qualifications & Requirements:
5+ years of directly related technical experience in civil/structural design. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation , or related CADD software. Experience with 3D modeling/BIM software . Experience using Revit, Bentley OpenRoads , or similar BIM-related software is preferred. Ability to create new drawings and effectively revise existing drawings. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, engineers, and other team members. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience working in or visiting industrial facilities such as: Electrical substations Power plants Gas/oil processing, transmission, or storage facilities Factories and manufacturing facilities Must be safety-focused and familiar with typical PPE requirements for industrial sites. Valid driver's license required. Must be willing and able to travel to client facilities as needed. Nationwide travel may occasionally be required; expected travel is less than 5% . US Citizen or authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. RCMT is willing to train candidates on some job requirements if they demonstrate that they meet the majority of the qualifications listed above.Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field. Experience with 3D modeling using Revit, Bentley OpenRoads, or similar BIM software. Knowledge of industry design standards and applicable building/fire codes. Field surveying and site walkdown experience. Experience with energy, utility, industrial, or commercial projects.Compensation & Benefits:
