Job Description
Position Summary Lathan McKee Architects is seeking a Contract Architect to support project work associated with our Montgomery, AL market. This is a remote engagement for an experienced architect who can work independently, integrate with existing project teams, and deliver production-ready documents on an agreed schedule. Key Responsibilities Produce and coordinate construction documents, design development drawings, and specifications for assigned projects Collaborate remotely with project managers, in-house architects, and consultants (structural, MEP, civil) to resolve design and coordination issues Apply applicable building codes, zoning requirements, and accessibility standards relevant Participate in virtual design review meetings and client coordination calls as needed Respond to RFIs and submittal reviews during construction administration, if scope includes CA support Maintain document control and version consistency within the firm's project management and CAD/BIM systems Deliver work products on the timeline and milestones defined in the contract/statement of work Required Qualifications Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) 7-10 years of experience in architectural design and construction documentation Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote capacity Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration
