Entry-Level / New Grad Southern Steel Engineers (SSE) is hiring an entry-level structural engineer to support our growing workload of steel connection design and steel erection engineering projects. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent civil or structural engineering graduate who's eager to apply their skills, learn from experienced engineers, and grow into a specialized role in structural steel design. What You'll Do Assist in the analysis and design of steel connections for a wide variety of project types across the U.S. Assist in steel erection engineering for a wide variety of project types across the U.S. Use engineering software such as MathCAD Prime , IDEA StatiCa , RAM Elements , and Revit to support design work Review 3D BIM models in Trimble Connect to assist with coordination and connection detailing Prepare engineering submittals, review shop drawings, and help respond to RFIs from clients and detailers Collaborate with internal engineers and external partners to deliver accurate, code-compliant solutions Contribute to the improvement of internal tools, calculation templates, and design processes What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Passed or planning to take the FE exam Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail and a logical, problem-solving mindset Well-organized , self-motivated, and able to manage tasks in a project-driven environment Eager to learn and grow technical skills through hands-on experience and mentorship Genuine interest in structural steel design and building a career in engineering Bonus Skills (Not Required) Familiarity with software such as MathCAD, IDEA
