Job Description

About the Role Caribbean Structural Systems and Aptec Building Systems are a South Florida-based structural engineering and supply firm specializing in pre-engineered metal buildings and structural steel. Operating as two halves of the same team — CSS handling international work and Aptec handling domestic — we design, procure, and deliver building systems to clients across Florida, The Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, the Cayman Islands, and the broader English-speaking Caribbean. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Structural Engineer to join our team and contribute across a diverse range of projects. What You'll Do Support the full project lifecycle from initial estimating through final design, including entering and fine-tuning pre-engineered metal building models in MBS Design structural steel, open-web steel joist, and metal deck systems across a range of project types and complexity levels Prepare and review drawings, calculations, and project documentation, including annotating and red-marking approval drawings for special conditions Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, and clients to move projects from award through procurement and delivery Contribute to internal process improvement, including organizing details and developing SOPs for repeatable work Travel domestically and internationally as project needs require What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (MS a plus) 3-7 years of experience in structural engineering, with meaningful exposure to metal building systems or structural steel Familiarity with
AISC, ASCE
7, and Florida Building Code requirements Experience with Metal Building Software (MBS) is a strong plus; ability to learn proprietary design and detailing platforms is essential Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication skills Valid passport required (or willingness to obtain one) Experience with Caribbean or international projects is a bonus, but not required Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience, paid biweekly 100% company-paid health insurance for the employee (dependent coverage available at employee's expense; eligible after 90-day probationary period)

$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
