United States, Tennessee, Oak Ridge 1006 Floyd Culler Court (Show on map) Sep 09, 2026 Spectra Tech, Inc. is hiring for a Civil Design Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN Position Overview A Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for developing high quality detailed design packages, providing engineering procurement and field technical support to implement those designs, and providing expertise for troubleshooting and technical assessments of plant facilities. Candidate must effectively and cooperatively work as a team member of an integrated project team, or as a technical lead for a multi-discipline task and will routinely provide input to system engineers and other plant customers. Candidate will routinely perform walk downs in the existing plant facilities in order to generate design documents and provide field support to craft personnel. This position will require technical expertise and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of Civil Engineering. Responsibilities Provide self-performed technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems through the application of established engineering practices, codes and standards.

Storm and storm drain designs and modifications.

Road design.

Soil evaluation.

Oversight of outside engineering firms.

Must be familiar with consensus design codes.

CAD drafting experience not required but preferred.

Must be willing to work in a production environment.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school.

Minimum of 5 years experience.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
