Summary of Roles and Responsibilities :

The Millwork Engineer will be responsible for converting architectural drawings and design concepts into engineered production-ready shop drawings and deliverables using Microvellum. The Millwork Engineer will deliver accurate, complete, and on-time engineered millwork/Microvellum packages that move through manufacturing with zero surprises, ensuring Kaemark is known for unmatched efficiency and reliability.

General tasks and responsibilities:
  • Build detailed, manufacturable Microvellum models and complete engineering packages.
  • Produce accurate shop drawings, cut lists, and CNC data.
  • Meet all projects milestones, deadlines, and KPIs set by the Engineering Manager.
  • Communicate and collaborate with engineering, design, sales, project management, production, and installation to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Provides written communication and status updates on jobs in progress.
  • Produce custom construction details when necessary to meet the design intent of our contracted scope of work.
  • Complete submittals in a timely manner and according to our company lead times
  • Effectively manages time and prioritizes assigned tasks.
  • Attend daily meetings with the Engineering team to provide projects statuses.
  • Work with management team to improve engineering processes, Microvellum templates, spec groups, libraries, and standards
  • Manage multiple projects (4-6) at different stages with a high sense of urgency Required skills:

  • Technical knowledge : Understanding of architectural millwork, CNC equipment operation, and woodworking construction methods

  • Attention to detail : Ability to identify and prevent important details slip through the cracks or derail a project

Qualification Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the commercial millwork industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Microvellum
  • Strong understanding of architectural and millwork drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
  • Exposure to CNC programming and knowledge of millwork fabrication, joinery, and machining processes.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Technology, Architectural Drafting, Engineering, Woodworking, or related field preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge AWI Standards preferred but not required.
