Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Architectural Intern will assist our Architecture efforts, and includes the following duties and responsibilities.
JOB DUTIES
Prepares and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. as directed by others utilizing Revit/BIM. Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards. Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects. Engage with other interns across the enterprise as part of the overall Summer Internship Program. Comply with Company's Quality Control and Project Management procedures. Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization's goals. Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment. Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex. This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Architecture or similar is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD and Revit is preferred. Ability to travel. Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities. Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts. Must comply with Vestal Corporations' core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and maintain sound relationships among and with employees. You are expected to also invest some of your own time immersing yourself into the Architectural field of the AEC industry familiarizing yourself with key reference materials: Building Codes International Building Code ADA guidelines Insurance Design Guides FM Global Loss Prevention Datasheets FM Global RoofNav FM Global Product Approvals Safety Standards OSHA for Industry and Construction
