HGA is seeking a Structural Designer for a direct-hire role in our Woodlands, TX office, responsible for supporting civil, structural, and architectural design, drafting, and project delivery across multiple projects. HGA is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities. Key Responsibilities Work under the supervision of the CSA Lead Engineer. Understand project scope and seek clarification as needed. Understand and support structural drawing package deliverables. Maintain work within assigned budget hours.
Perform field work to identify:
Existing foundation and structural steel conditions. Equipment layouts and clearances. Pipe rack and pipe support locations. Spare structural connection points and other structural field conditions. Prepare structural AutoCAD drawings, including foundations, structural steel framing, and connection details. Ensure company and/or client drafting standards and structural design practices are followed. Communicate needs, delays, or issues to the Lead Engineer. Review and interpret vendor drawings related to structural scope. Check all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission. Complete work efficiently to support project deadlines.
Provide engineering/design support tasks including:
Assembling document packages. Making copies. Converting .dwg files to PDFs. Required Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Proficient in AutoCAD 2019 or higher. Proficient in AutoCAD 3D modeling. Experience with structural steel and foundation design strongly preferred. General knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), ASCE, AISC, and other applicable structural design standards. Extensive knowledge of CAD and structural engineering design software. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (Access is a plus). Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to interface with clients as needed. Strong prioritization and execution skills in a high-pressure environment. Willingness and ability to learn and apply new technologies. Experience with a consulting engineering firm strongly preferred. Structural, Civil, or Architectural technical degree preferred, with a focus on structural coursework or project experience.
