Job Description

The purpose of this position is to "seek to bring forth and establish the cause of Zion." Produces the design, rendering, and construction documents for Church Meetinghouse Facilities. Work includes designing complex architectural and/or engineering solutions as assigned by the Architect or Engineer. Produces and maintains construction documents and checks final drawings for compliance with AEC's quality standards, and coordination with all discipline drawings and specifications. Education
  • Associates Degree in CAD Drafting or related field Experience
  • A minimum of 5 to 7+ years post education experience in Architectural Drafting Certification
  • Certified by Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) as Construction Document Technologist (CDT) or an equivalent Architectural Drafting certification preferred. Skill Level
  • Experience in project organization and operations using 2D and 3D CAD systems.
Proficient in AutoCad and Revit. Performs work under minimal supervision and handles complex issues and problems. Working knowledge of architectural and engineering practices and procedures. The ability to communicate in technical construction language with architects and engineers. Assists Architects and Engineers in the design, drafting, and rendering of all types of Church facilities including standard plan and site-specific projects. Prepares drawings, layouts, renderings and other design and production related tasks. Coordinates design and production work with internal and external architectural and engineering teams and communicates project requirements to other team members. Reviews the completeness and accuracy of final construction documents. Assists in new product, materials and systems research by gathering technical data, making comparison evaluations and submitting recommendations. Develops knowledge and skills relative to specifications, building codes and other life safety publications. Maintains design knowledge and CAD skills by receiving in-house training and performing quality assurance project visits. Assigns out projects to lower level team members.
