Job Description
Entry level civil engineer A successful architecture, engineering, and surveying firm providing fully integrated services is seeking an enthusiastic civil engineer to expand an established department. The position is open immediately. This entry level position requires a bachelors in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a PE license preferred but not required. A candidate's ability to sit for their PE licensure in the next few years will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have CAD experience with one or more products in the AutoDesk or Intellicad product families. The ideal candidate will balance hands-on experience in construction and building with analytical skills. Our client base is diverse and presents us with challenging projects and expects high performance. This includes site visits and hands-on field engineering. If a chance to be fully engaged in all aspects of a construction project from design through permitting and construction appeals to you, contact us at lineagearchhiring@gmail.com Key Responsibilities Design civil and site plans using relevant software, including Carlson, AutoCAD or Revit, and stormwater software such as HydroCAD Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills Attend site visits and project administration meetings to build client relationships and understand existing site Complete plan sets and design details Complete testing and inspections related to soil quality and density Review comments from city and county officials on submitted plans and make appropriate changes Assist in preparing a variety of technical reports Maintain project tracking, obtain estimates, and obtain necessary approvals Maintain detailed permit files and track reporting/renewal requirements for each project
Qualifications Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related fieldMinimum Qualification:
Familiarity with Virginia building codeMinimum Qualification:
Prior experience reading civil and architectural plansPreferred Qualification:
Familiarity with title work, easements and land recordsPreferred Qualification:

Cross-trained in survey or structural engineeringPreferred Qualification:
Currently holding Professional Engineer license, or ability to sit for licensure in the near future Benefit and Pay Information Full-time work schedule of 36 hours weekly (Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm) Annual salary of $52,000-$56,000, with higher salary based on experience $6,000 tax free HSA fund for medical expenses Immediate PTO accrual, with 2 weeks of PTO per year 1-4 years at the company, and 3 weeks of PTO per year after 5+ years at the company Additional annual paid week off December 24th to January 1st Variable end-of-year bonus Tuition reimbursement of one class per semester Professional development assistancePay:
