Business Marian University invites applicants for the position of Adjunct Professor in Construction Management, for the 2026-2027 Academic year. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement and research, as well as service to the college and community. Marian University is an institution that values innovative teaching, advising and mentoring. Teaching responsibilities include courses each semester, as demand requires. Candidates should exhibit skill and enthusiasm in teaching undergraduates.

Primary Responsibilities:

Be available to teach classes at our Fond du Lac, Wisconsin campus. Ability to teach throughout the Construction Management program. Be actively involved in student mentoring, assessment and assurance of learning, and curriculum design and revision. Assist post-graduate relationships, networks, and establishment of external industry relations to promote programs to employers, secure ongoing placement channels and initiate collaborations. Strictly honor the privacy, security and confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information according to state, federal, and college regulations, policies and procedures.

Possible Courses Available:

CON 203

• Construction Graphics (AutoCAD)
• Introduction to graphic communications used in construction including civil, architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings, plans, and schematics; creating and editing plans; symbols, terminology, and layout. Basic drawing through overview of building modeling is covered. CON 205
• Methods, Materials, and Quality I
• Methods and materials used in vertical construction. Comprehensive analysis of materials, design, and specifications, installation methods, testing and inspection, and appropriate construction methodology for application. The principles of sustainable construction are included. CON 207
• Methods, Materials, and Quality II
• Advanced methods and materials, focusing on horizontal construction materials, testing procedures, material properties, design, specification, and installation methods using certified standards and guidelines. The principles of sustainable construction are included. CON 220
• Construction Surveying
• The application of surveying skills as they relate to horizontal and vertical control on construction projects. Activities include building layout, centerline staking, earthwork computations, and slope staking. The use of electronic instruments is emphasized. CON 305
• Structural Statics & Materials
• Covers the fundamental concepts of structural statics such as forces, support conditions, equilibrium and more.

Covers the fundamental concepts of strength of materials such as stress, strain, bending, torsion and more. Includes soils and concrete testing, tensile and flexural strength.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar degree, along with extensive work experience. Prior Teaching experience. Willingness to support the Mission and Core Values of Marian University.

Preferred qualifications include:

Master's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar degree. Experience with construction surveying. Experience with construction scheduling. Experience with REVIT Auto Desk and Navis Works software. Belong to related professional groups/memberships
