Job Title:
BIM Specialist Job Description This position provides BIM services for the company encompassing architecture, engineering, and construction and will work directly with the project team in developing and updating a 3D model, details, and schedules throughout the project's life cycle. Responsibilities Build Revit content (families) for in-house design and constructability modeling. Develop and maintain company VDC/BIM standards and processes. Provide Revit application training for in-house design teams. Develop and coordinate BIMs for preconstruction and construction. Collaborate with design professionals to co-create and perform quality assurance/quality control checks on BIMs. Develop accurate and easy-to-use quantity takeoffs. Use 3D scanner on site and register scans for incorporation into Revit models. Work with project managers to optimize schedules through visual scheduling. Develop supplemental field documents for superintendents. Develop photorealistic renderings and walk-throughs directly from building models. Work with project managers and superintendents to update models to reflect as-built conditions. Develop and implement new BIM uses; expand VDC/BIM scope of projects. Support current software (Revit, Inventor, etc.); test and master new software. Promote the VDC/BIM process, internally and externally. Manage training for end users. Provide Ad-Hoc one-on-one coaching to engineers on how to use Revit and its features to help engineers be more self-sufficient at modeling, detailing, and scheduling generation. Essential Skills Proficiency in using and supporting the current versions of AutoCAD and Revit MEP and Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. Proficiency in creating Revit content, setting up models for production and optimizing Revit workflows. Strong technical writing and oral communication skills. Ability to travel to customer facilities with several overnight stays for design meetings, equipment installation supervision, and commissioning. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's degree in a related field (i.e. CAD drafting, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or architectural design) or commensurate experience. 2+ years of experience in Industrial Systems design at a consulting engineering firm or a Design/Build Contractor. Problem solving skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Team player. Takes initiative to improve personal skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with all internal and external levels and groups. Work Environment The position is based on site in Middleton. The work involves the use of technologies and equipment such as Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D scanners. The role may require travel to customer facilities, including several overnight stays, for design meetings, equipment installation supervision, and commissioning. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $41.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
