Our client, a large steel manufacturer, is looking to hire a full-time direct hire Electronic / Electrical Technician to support preventive maintenance programs located in The selected candidate will have a strong industrial background and hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and control systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, industrial networks, HMIs, motor controls, sensors, and automated manufacturing equipment. The technician will support production and maintenance teams by troubleshooting equipment issues, identifying root causes, performing corrective and preventive maintenance, and contributing to improvements that increase equipment reliability and production performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical, electronic, and control systems. Diagnose problems involving Allen-Bradley PLCs, including PLC I/O, hardware, communication, and basic programming/troubleshooting. Troubleshoot and maintain HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, relays, contactors, and motor-control systems. Troubleshoot industrial communication networks such as EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, or similar systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, wiring diagrams, and PLC documentation. Perform electrical testing using appropriate diagnostic tools and instruments. Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities on production equipment. Respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and production-critical issues. Identify recurring equipment problems and contribute to root-cause analysis and long-term corrective solutions. Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other technical teams to improve equipment reliability and line performance. Participate in equipment installations, modifications, commissioning, and improvement projects. Maintain accurate documentation of troubleshooting activities, repairs, and equipment modifications. Follow all applicable safety, electrical, and plant procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Technical degree, certification, or equivalent experience in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Automation, Controls, or a related field. 2+ years of industrial electrical/electronic maintenance experience preferred. Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC systems. Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled industrial equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot electromechanical equipment. Ability to work independently and make sound troubleshooting decisions in a production environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix / CompactLogix platforms. Experience with Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000. Experience with Allen-Bradley PanelView / FactoryTalk systems. Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, or other industrial communication networks. Experience with servo drives and motion control. Experience with industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing equipment. Experience with PLC programming and program modifications, not only troubleshooting. Experience with power electronics, induction equipment, welding systems, or high-power industrial equipment.
SAP/CMMS
experience. Experience in a steel, pipe, automotive, heavy manufacturing, or continuous production environment.
