Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Collision Repair Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the collision repair department. This role involves managing repair schedules, coordinating with technicians, ensuring quality control, and optimizing workflows to achieve production targets and maintain high standards of repair work.
Duties:
Production Oversight:
Manage the workflow of the collision repair department, including scheduling and assigning repair jobs to technicians to meet production goals and deadlines.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all repairs meet industry standards and company quality guidelines through regular inspections and adherence to repair procedures.
Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and support repair technicians and staff, providing training and guidance to enhance skills and efficiency.
Customer Interaction:
Collaborate with service advisors and customers to provide updates on repair status, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels of parts and materials required for repairs, placing orders as necessary and ensuring cost-effective procurement.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to streamline operations, reduce cycle times, and increase productivity.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all repair activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of experience in the automotive repair industry, preferably in a management role.
- Proven experience with mechanical and cosmetic repairs.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and mechanics.
- Experience with airless paint spraying and auto painting.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform heavy lifting.
- Experience with welding and soldering.
- Experience in a dealership environment is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Experience with auto estimating and repair software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
