Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Fiber Installation Technician to join our growing telecommunications team. The Fiber Installation Technician is responsible for installing, activating, troubleshooting, and maintaining fiber-optic services for residential and commercial customers. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities Install fiber-optic internet at customer locations. Run, secure, and route fiber-optic cables both inside and outside customer premises. Perform fiber termination, connectorization, and testing. Configure and activate customer equipment, including ONTs, routers, and Wi-Fi devices. Conduct service testing to ensure optimal signal quality and network performance. Troubleshoot and resolve service issues, connectivity problems, and equipment failures. Educate customers on equipment operation and service features. Complete installation and service documentation accurately using mobile devices and company software. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a safe and organized condition. Follow all safety procedures, company standards, and industry best practices. Participate in after-hours emergency service restoration and on-call rotations as needed. Work Environment This position involves field work in residential and commercial environments. Technicians may work on ladders, in attics, crawl spaces, utility easements, and outdoor settings. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and overtime when necessary is required. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and climb ladders. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Excellent customer service and communication abilities. Preferred Previous experience in fiber-optic installation, telecommunications, cable, satellite, or low-voltage systems. Experience working with FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) networks. Knowledge of fiber testing equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, and visual fault locators. Fiber optic certifications (FOA, CFOT, or equivalent). Experience with networking equipment and Wi-Fi systems. Compensation:
