This role supports the operations of the Southland combined cycle plants (2 GE7FA.05 combustion turbines on 1 Siemens steam turbine) in a safe, and environmentally compliant manner. The HRSG is a three pressure Vogt unit and the Combustion turbine fuel is natural gas. The net plant output is approximately 644 Mw. The control systems, include GE Mark VIE, Siemens T3000 steam turbine, DCS ABB Symphony Plus and others. Under general guidance, is responsible and accountable for the continuous safe and efficient maintenance and improvement of the plant Electrical, instrumentation and control systems. Responsibilities include inspects, tests, services, repairs and installs indicating, recording and automatic control instruments such as PLC's, DCS, Protection relays, breakers, flow-meters, analyzers, controllers, regulators, and similar components. The role requires in depth knowledge of electrical, pressure, temperature, flow, and level, process analytical instruments/devices as used in complex analog and digital control systems is required. Additional responsibilities include to fill in as a Plant Equipment Operator for monitoring and operating of all plant equipment on a continuous basis and executes plant shut-down and start-up procedures following the direction of CRO as required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with plant personnel to identify instrumentation and control system problems and to develop practical engineering solutions that address the root causes of problems Responsible for the maintenance of Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and their interfaces with external systems Interprets specifications, singe line, 3 line and schematics drawings, SAMA and
DCS, PLC
logic diagrams for electrical, instrument and control equipment, systems and components. Recommends process, systems and components modifications and upgrades. Works with Planning Team to develop and maintain preventative and corrective maintenance programs; executes work orders Performs preventive maintenance including cleaning and lubricating parts, adjusting breakers and switches contacts, calibrating and testing microprocessor based protection relays, electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, motors, switchgears, UPS and DC systems. Performs preventive maintenance including replacing defective electrical and pneumatic instrument parts, installing and repairing tubing, adjusting and calibrating instruments and repairing various electronic and pneumatic components associated with the maintenance of digital and analog control systems, including combustion, feedwater, steam temperature, fuel gas and similar system control instrumentation. Work with commissioning team for system walkdown, preparing punch list, testing protection relays, inspecting generator, transformer, switchgears and motor, loop, logic and function check for electrical equipment and controls. Troubleshooting and rectifying field instrumentation, controls and relay logics, breakers, Load commutated inverters, Generator circuit breaker controls, Variable frequency drives, Automatic voltage regulator and Protection relays issues.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Degreed candidates must have seven (7) years' experience in progressively responsible assignments, demonstrating success in technical positions within power plant operations Non-degreed candidates must have nine (9) years' experience in progressively responsible assignments, demonstrating success in technical positions within power plant operations Must pass all training CCGT classes with an acceptable score Must have basic knowledge of electrical systems and protection, to include automatic voltage regulator theory and operation, Inverter operation, generator and transformer protective relays theory and operation. Knowledge in process instrumentation, control systems tuning and stability analysis a plus. Willing to learn CCGT plant operations and must qualify as a Plant Equipment Operator within reasonable time.
PREFERRED SKILLS

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $49.25 and $59.08/per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes annual bonus.
