Job Description

L.A. Tech Repairs is hiring an experienced Computer Repair Technician to join our team. We specialize in fast, high-quality repairs for MacBooks, Windows laptops, desktop PCs, and custom-built systems. We are looking for someone who can handle diagnostics, hardware repairs, software issues, and motherboard-level troubleshooting. Responsibilities Computer & Laptop Repair Diagnose issues on MacBooks, Windows laptops, and PCs Replace screens, keyboards, trackpads, batteries, SSDs, RAM, fans, heatsinks, and charging ports Perform OS reinstallations, driver repair, data transfer, password resets, and malware cleanup Handle liquid damage cleaning and analysis Perform thermal repaste service, overheating diagnostics, and fan repairs Run full hardware tests and performance benchmarks Troubleshoot motherboard issues (short-circuits, power rails, no-power/no-display, BIOS corruption) Advanced Diagnostics Use multimeter, power supply, thermal camera, and boardview tool. Read schematics and identify defective chips or components Flash or reprogram BIOS when necessary. General Shop Duties Communicate findings clearly to customers Provide accurate repair quotes and timelines Maintain a clean, organized workstation Update CRM repair notes accurately Assist with inventory and parts management Requirements Experience repairing MacBooks and Windows computers (1-3+ years preferred) Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability Ability to work with multimeters, power supplies, and thermal cameras Knowledge of BIOS, firmware, drivers, and operating systems Professional communication skills Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Able to work independently in a busy repair environment Preferred (Not Required) Board-level experience (MOSFET testing, short tracing, IC identification) Bios repair experience (SPI flashing, EC repair, etc.) Experience with desktops and gaming PCs Console repair knowledge (PS5/Xbox thermal or HDMI) is aplus but not required Microsoldering experience is a plus Benefits Competitive pay based on experience $4 to $10 Commission paid upon each successful repair.
