Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fiber Optic Splicer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on outdoor fiber optic network projects, ensuring the seamless installation and splicing of fiber optic cables in various environments. The ideal candidate will bring technical proficiency, hands-on experience, and a passion for building reliable telecommunications networks. Responsibilities Perform fusion splicing of single-mode fiber Preferred Experience Crown Castle fiber experience - strongly preferred OSP fiber construction experience Fusion splicing experience OTDR testing experience Fiber power meter/light source testing Fiber restoration experience Aerial and underground fiber experience Experience with splice closures and fiber distribution equipment Experience reading fiber construction and splice plans Experience working with carrier/customer construction standards Requirements Proven hands-on fiber splicing experience Ability to work independently in the field Valid driver's license Ability to travel to project locations Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions Ability to work from approved lifts, ladders, or other access equipment when required Strong attention to detail Commitment to safety and quality Prepare fiber cables, splice trays, closures, and splice enclosures Perform fiber identification, ribbon/tube preparation, and fiber routing Read and interpret fiber splice diagrams, engineering drawings, and construction plans Perform OTDR testing and optical power/loss testing Analyze OTDR traces and identify fiber faults, high-loss events, reflections, and other issues Perform troubleshooting and fiber restoration Complete fiber testing and acceptance requirements Perform underground and aerial fiber splicing as required Work with fiber splice closures, handholes, cabinets, pedestals, and other OSP infrastructure Maintain accurate splice records and test documentation Take required job-site photographs and maintain field documentation Identify material, construction, or fiber issues and communicate them to management Complete daily production reports and job documentation Maintain a clean and safe work area Follow all company, customer, and OSHA safety requirements
