The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plant electrical systems and production equipment. Duties Install, relocate, and connect production equipment: extrusion lines, mixers, downstream equipment (vacuum tanks, haul-offs, cutters, bellers), chillers, and material handling systems Terminate motor, heater, and control wiring; verify rotation, phasing, and grounding Coordinate with outside electrical contractors and equipment vendors on service work, new machine hookups, and upgrades Set up and verify temperature controllers, VFDs, and PLC/HMI parameters on new and modified equipment Maintain panel layouts, wiring documentation, and as-built drawings Experience Proven experience as an industrial electrician or electrical technician within manufacturing or processing environments. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial automation, and electrical troubleshooting techniques. Hands-on experience reading schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, and electrical wiring diagrams. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), calibration procedures, and engineering troubleshooting methods. Ability to operate testing instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, sensors, vision inspection systems, Calypso software tools, and low voltage testing devices. Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical components integrated with electrical systems. Experience working with electrical safety procedures in industrial settings to maintain a safe work environment. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation when supporting internal teams or external vendors. Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production equipment: heater bands and thermocouples, contactors and SSRs, VFDs and DC drives, sensors, control circuits Perform preventive maintenance on motors, drives, panels, and heating zones; keep PM logs current Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimize line downtime; communicate status to production Maintain spare parts inventory for electrical components and recommend stocking levels Perform basic mechanical repairs when needed (belts, bearings, couplings) and support the mechanical maintenance team Follow and enforce lockout/tagout, arc flash, and
