Full Job Description Job Title:
R D Technician Job Description Support R D and engineering teams in the development, testing, and validation of power conversion and energy storage products. Build, assemble, and modify prototypes, test fixtures, and engineering hardware. Execute engineering test plans and assist with product validation activities. Perform system wiring, cabling, and integration of electromechanical assemblies. Troubleshoot hardware issues and support root cause investigations. Collect, document, and communicate test results and engineering data. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to support product development efforts. Assist with continuous improvement of test methods, fixtures, and documentation processes. Essential Skills Experience in building prototypes, test fixtures, cable assemblies, harnesses, or electromechanical systems. Strong wiring, cabling, soldering, assembly, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment. Experience supporting product development, testing, validation, or engineering lab environments. Exposure to power electronics, AC/DC power systems, battery systems, energy storage products, industrial controls, or related technologies. Strong documentation skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree, technical certification, military electronics training, or equivalent hands-on experience. Experience as an Engineering Technician, R D Technician, Electronics Technician, Test Technician, Lab Technician, or similar role. Exposure to thermal chamber/environmental testing, Python, LabVIEW, and root cause failure analysis. Work Environment The work environment involves collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers. The role requires using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies. The technician will work in an engineering lab environment focused on product development, testing, and validation. Attention to detail and strong documentation skills are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Poway, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
