Traveling Fiber Splicer I is the standard traveling splice classification for single-fiber and standard ribbon work, OTDR/OLTS quality, and travel reliability. Not a supervisory position. What you will do Mobilize across West Coast and other PTC markets; respond to restoration callouts Fusion splice loose-tube and standard ribbon plant Build and close splice cases and termination panels to client spec Operate fusion splicer, cleaver, OTDR, OLTS / power meter, and VFL Submit timely test reports and splice documentation Apply the JSA and work-zone plan at pedestals, vaults, midspan, and ROW locations Keep assigned splice vehicle, tools, and test gear inspection-ready Requirements OSP fiber splicing, testing, and repair experience (placement by skill and travel reliability) Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, and OLTS Valid U.S. driver's license with acceptable record Ability and willingness to travel and work restoration hours English sufficient for client documentation and office reporting Pass background, drug screen, and MVR as applicable Preferred OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Class A or B CDL if the assigned splice vehicle requires it Tier 1 / MSO plant experience Safety Safety is a condition of employment. Stop-work authority is expected. Daily tailgate/JSA required.
PPE:
hard hat, eye/hand protection, hi-vis, approved footwear. Report injuries, near misses, utility hits, and defects the same shift.
Pay:
$28.00 - $34.00 per hour
