Duration:
6 Months Job Summary Client is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support engineering lab operations and infrastructure activities. The role involves installing and relocating equipment, running and managing cabling (Coax, Ethernet, Fiber Optics), supporting lab equipment, performing hardware/software upgrades, and assisting with lab organization and maintenance. The ideal candidate should have hands-on technical support experience in engineering or lab environments, basic networking and operating system knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team setting. Key Responsibilities Support daily engineering lab operations and technical activities Install, relocate, and configure lab equipment Perform software and hardware upgrades Install and manage: Coax cabling Ethernet cabling Fiber optic cabling Build equipment racks using rack elevation and wiring diagrams Assist with lab moves, organization, and cleanup Support maintenance of company vehicles Follow priorities set by management and project leads Required Skills Familiarity with Windows 11 and/or Linux Basic Microsoft Office skills Ability to follow technical documentation and instructions Strong organizational and customer service skills Good written and verbal communication Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Flexible and willing to learn new tasks Preferred Qualifications Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking Knowledge of DNS and DHCP Basic Windows/Linux system administration knowledge Military electronics/communications training OR trade school background Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field Physical Requirements Ability to climb ladders and run overhead cabling Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
