This role is ideal for a hands-on individual who is a quick learner and has a strong desire to build broad-based technical skills across electrical, mechanical, and system-level disciplines. The Engineering Technician will work closely with engineering teams to assemble, wire, test, troubleshoot, and improve complex automation systems. Key Responsibilities System Assembly & Integration Perform electrical and mechanical assembly of automation systems and subsystems Execute system-level integration of robotics, motion, sensors, and controls Assist with installation and setup of production and prototype equipment Electrical & Wiring Read, interpret, and assist in improving electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Perform panel wiring, cable routing, and harness assembly Support schematic derivation and updates based on as-built configurations Software & System Setup Install, configure, and test vendor-supplied software Assist with system bring-up, calibration, and validation Support communication setup between PLCs, PCs, and automation components Troubleshooting & Debugging Diagnose and resolve issues in electrical, mechanical, and integrated systems Support root cause analysis and corrective actions Work alongside engineers to debug system performance issues Design & Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for design improvements and system optimization Provide feedback to engineering on buildability, reliability, and performance Assist in implementing revisions and documenting changes Required Skills & Qualifications Strong hands-on aptitude with mechanical and electrical systems Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics Experience with wiring, assembly, and troubleshooting Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment Desired Characteristics Quick learner with a strong desire to expand technical skillsets Self-starter with the ability to seek and destroy tasks proactively without constant direction Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work daily, even as priorities shift Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy Effective communicator and team collaborator Preferred Qualifications Experience in semiconductor equipment, robotics, or industrial automation Familiarity with PLCs, motion control systems, or machine vision Exposure to system integration and test environments Engineering degree is a plus, but not required Work Environment Hands-on lab and production floor setting Combination of bench work, system integration, and troubleshooting Occasional lifting and working with tools and test equipment Why This Role?
