Job Description

Position Overview IoT Hybrid Solutions (IoTHS) is seeking a full-time, onsite Electronic Security Service Technician to support a large-scale enterprise physical security deployment across multiple client locations in the San Francisco Bay Area . This role serves as the primary field owner of all physical security hardware and sensors, responsible for ensuring system reliability, uptime, and alignment with client security standards. The technician will operate as an embedded resource within the client environment, supporting daily operations, break/fix response, preventive maintenance, and small system modifications. This is a hands-on, systems-oriented role requiring strong troubleshooting capability across access control, video surveillance hardware, and integrated security devices. Key Responsibilities 1. Break/Fix & Field Operations Serve as the primary onsite technician for all physical security hardware across covered sites Diagnose and resolve hardware issues including: Door locking hardware (maglocks, strikes, mortise locks, crash bars) Card readers (HID Signo and similar) Door contacts, REX devices, and duress systems Surveillance camera hardware (mounting, physical failures, field components) Power supplies (12V/24V), enclosures, and security cabinets Perimeter intrusion and gunshot detection sensors Restore system functionality in alignment with defined SLAs and operational priorities Coordinate with remote engineering and systems administration teams as needed 2. Service Level Execution Respond to and resolve incidents based on severity and site tier: Tier 1 : Same-day onsite response Support critical scenarios including: Doors failing open/locked (life safety + security risk) Emergency egress / REX failures (NFPA compliance) Multi-door outages (panel, power, or wiring issues) Perform structured troubleshooting and document all work performed 3. Proactive Maintenance Execute scheduled maintenance programs across all sites: Preventive hardware inspections (semi-annual) Lock hardware calibration and adjustment Cabling and termination inspection Battery and UPS testing Sensor functional validation (intrusion, duress, gunshot detection) Maintain system health and reduce failure rates through proactive intervention Manage and track onsite spare parts inventory 4. Moves, Adds & Changes (MAC) Execute field-level system modifications, including: Adding or relocating readers, doors, and devices Camera adjustments and relocations Sensor installations and repositioning Perform installation, configuration, testing, and documentation updates Support small expansions within existing infrastructure 5. Asset & Lifecycle Management Maintain accurate device inventory and perform reconciliation against system records Track hardware warranties and coordinate replacements Conduct root cause analysis for all major incidents and recommend preventive actions Scope Notes Cabling, network infrastructure, and major construction work are performed by others This role focuses on field hardware, system reliability, and operational continuity Required Qualifications 5-7+ years experience in low voltage / electronic security systems Strong hands-on experience with: Access control systems (Mercury controllers preferred) IP camera hardware installation and troubleshooting Experience working in enterprise or campus environments Ability to troubleshoot: Power issues (12V/24V systems) Device-level failures Field wiring and terminations Familiarity with life safety requirements (egress, REX devices, code compliance) Strong documentation and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with Genetec Security Center (Omnicast / Synergis) Experience supporting GSOC or security operations environments
